ARES Commander Unique features

ARES Commander

ARES Commander has many unique feature. Users will not find these feature in other software packages (as on today). Many people like this software because of these features.

Unique Features:

Now, we will have brief description of all these features:

  • Perpetual License

ARES Commander comes with perpetual license. A perpetual software license is a type of software license that authorizes an individual to use a program indefinitely. Generally, outside of termination, a perpetual software license allows the holder to use a specific version of a given software program continually with payment of a single fee.

  • Trinity of CAD

The ARES Trinity of CAD Software combines the best of what each platform has to offer: Desktop, Mobile, and Cloud are combined into a unique user experience generating high synergies across all your devices.

ARES Touch

ARES-Touch

Subscribers of ARES Commander can enjoy ARES Touch on all their mobile devices at no additional cost. With more than 150 CAD features, ARES Touch is the most advanced Mobile CAD solution currently available for Android and iOS.

ARES Kudo

ARES_Kudo

ARES Kudo is a cloud-based CAD solution for DWG viewing and editing. It runs in your Internet browser via a simple URL. ARES Kudo connects to all your cloud storages such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Box but also Onshape or Trimble Connect. ARES Kudo behaves like the hub for all your DWG files: your DWG files follow you on any device, anywhere, without the hassles of installs or updates.

Customer Portal

The highly flexible licensing of ARES Commander allows the same user to work from several computers under Windows®, MacOS® or Linux®. Each license of ARES Commander™ includes also a 1-year renewable subscription for ARES Touch™ and ARES Kudo™.

User can now use the @ prefix to enter relative angles, just like user has already used for distances input. This unique ability simplifies significantly the coordinate input when user draws successive lines or polygon segments.

Relative Angles in Coordinate input

ARES Commander Offers a unique way to display command option in a toolbar known as “Options Toolbar”. The Options Toolbar displays context sensitive options you can select when executing a command. It displays only those options that are available at the current prompt.

Options toolbar

  • Productivity Tools like
    • Mouse Gesture
      • ARES commander has very useful feature Mouse Gestures which is making this software different in 2D category. You can map up to eight commands to mouse gestures from the Mouse Gestures dialog box. It’s very simple to use this: You can use mouse gestures by right-dragging in the graphics area to invoke a pre assigned tools. You will see mouse gesture on screen. You can use a mouse gesture as a shortcut to execute a command quickly, similar to a keyboard shortcut. This increases you working speed.
      • Mouse Gestures
    • Heads Up Toolbar
      • This tool bar appears when you select entities and lets you zoom to the specified entities, change the entities Layer, LineStyle, and LineWidth, dimension entities, or create a Block from the entities.
      • Heads-up toolbar
  • Customize collection of tool bars at Tool Matrix

User can open the Tool Matrix, which is a collection of toolbars.

When user opens the Tool Matrix the first time, it is an empty panel. User has to drag toolbars onto the Tool Matrix.

The Tool Matrix is a user interface element that behaves like other palettes, such as the Properties palette or References palette.

Tool Matrix

Power Trim  command is used to trim multiple, adjacent entities by dragging the pointer across each entity. user can also extend entities along their natural paths, and extend or trim two entities where they intersect at a virtual corner.

PowerTrim

VoiceNote command lets user record audio notes and embed them in drawings. You can add instruction in your voice and add in drawing.

Voice Note

  • Redefine base point in block

User can redefine block base point.

RedefineBasePoint command moves the base (insertion) point to a new location in a block. By default, many blocks have their base point at 0,0,0 (drawing origin) and so this command lets it be moved to a more suitable location. This command works with one block at a time.

Redefine block base point

  • Annotate drawing with
    • Dimension Pallet
      • The Dimension palette appears when user insert or select a Dimension so user can change the properties and formatting of Dimension text.

        Dimension Pallet

    • Dimension snap offset distance
      • Places dimension lines at specified distances from measured linear entities and between successive dimension lines. Places leader lines at specified angles for radius and diameter dimensions.
      • Dimension Snap
  • Dynamic Print Preview

ARES Commander has a reorganized dialog for Print settings with a dynamic preview representing your drawing as it would be printed. You no longer need to switch between settings and preview to adjust your print configuration.

It has been redesigned to have a preview – in real time – of what you are going to print.

ARES Mechanical 2017

A powerful CAD solution for Mechanical Engineers launched by Graebert GmbH

ARES Mechanical 2017

While most young engineers and designers learn 3D CAD technology, more than 60% of the CAD Work is actually done in 2D. A Mechanical CAD Software has to incorporate tools needed to support Mechanical Engineers work productively and efficiently.

+ 2D CAD has to be intuitive and easy to use

+ 2D CAD should be suitable for occasional work

+ 2D CAD must be easy to learn

+ 2D CAD has to be easy to customize for company needs

We have designed ARES Mechanical for the demands of today’s work

The designer Planner ribbon shows only the top-level features needed for a quick sketch of a new drawing. This includes construction lines, power trim, copy-paste from other drawings and many more.

ARES M ToolBox Ribbon

This ribbon was designed to work with an existing drawing and it consists of the most important functions for drafting and annotation. It provides easy access to drawing resources as can be seen in the next ribbon.

We designed ARES Mechanical especially for the needs of 2D mechanical CAD and for those who use 3D CAD occasionally. So, you find typical users in

+ Factory planning

+ Repair and/or Maintenance

+ Sketches for Offers

+ Documentation

+ 2D Detailing

The user can access the full set of functions by switching to the Standard Menu, where all functions are presented in toolbars. Of course, the command line option is available for  power users. Here is a summary of the useful additional drawing tools:

  • Construction Lines
  • Rectangle with auto dimension
  • Predefined hatches
  • Layer Manager – Automatic layer creation settings
  • Engineering Standards
  • Drawings tools
  • Standards Parts and symbols
  • Balloons and BOM creation
  • Frame and Tittle block – as per standard engineering size

I will keep writing in future blogs for specific features ARES Mechanical.

ARES Commander EDITXBLOCKATTRIBUTE

Advance Block Attribute Editing

ARES Commander 2017 offers a new dialog that offers to quickly change the attribute of a block. Not only the information that contains the attribute but also some of its properties. Like Name, height, Color and many other properties. Even we can modify the selected attributes, may be May be 2 out of 6.

Advanced Attribute Edit

How to apply Extended Editing of BlockAttributes

Use the EditXBlockAttribute command to modify the BlockAttribute values and properties of inserted Blocks.

Property changes include Layer, TextStyle, and other settings.

You cannot edit BlockAttribute values on locked Layers.

To apply extended editing of BlockAttributes:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Double-click a Block with BlockAttributes.
    • Type EditXBlockAttribute, then select a Block reference with BlockAttributes in the graphics area.
  2. In the dialog box, select an item in Value.
  3. Edit the value:
    • If the BlockAttribute is a single-line BlockAttribute, type a new Value.
    • If the BlockAttribute is a multiline BlockAttribute, click Open Multiline Editor Open multiline editior to edit the text in the graphics area using the Multiline BlockAttribute Formatting pop-up toolbar.

Note: The editor settings (editing in-place or in a dialog box) specified for Notes with the NoteOptions command also apply for multiline BlockAttributes.

    • Select Change attribute value to all instances to overwrite the value of the BlockAttribute in all instances of the Block in the drawing. Use caution with this option as it potentially replaces all previous BlockAttribute edits.
  4. Edit properties:
    • Under Properties, change the Layer, LineStyle, LineColor, LineWeight, and PrintStyle of the BlockAttribute.

Note: LineStyles and LineWeights become visible only if the TextStyle of the BlockAttribute is based on a SHX font, not a TrueType font.

    • Under Text options, modify the TextStyle, Justification, Spacing, Height, Rotation, and Width of the BlockAttribute text.

If the TextStyle supports the corresponding options, specify whether to generate the text Backwards or Upside down, and whether the text uses Annotative scaling.

    • Under Apply changes select To all instances, to update the properties and text settings for all instances of Blocks in the drawing.

Click Hide/Show Properties Hide show properties to collapse or expand the properties area of the dialog box.

  5. Click Apply for intermediate updates of your changes.
  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for other BlockAttributes.
  7. Click OK.

The reasons i like this feature are:

  1. User can quickly change the attributes
  2. Information as well as properties can be changed
  3. Properties like Name, Height, Color and many other
  4. Editing the attributes are very easy
  5. We can update selected attributes with Value / Properties OR both.
